Are you someone we should be talking to?

Just as traditional approaches are no longer adequate for the procurement challenges facing the public sector, neither is a conventional person specification because it won't give you a true impression of these newly-defined roles and whether or not you'd be right for them.

So, we've developed a questionnaire that gauges your response to situations and scenarios you'd typically find with us. Complete it; and you'll learn a lot about the role, about us, about yourself and whether you and the public sector could have a future together.

The questionnaire is entirely optional and your results will not be seen by anyone other than you. It does not form part of the selection process, so please feel free to complete it as many times as you want and to be very honest and open about your skills and preferences. This will enable you to get a more accurate indication of your suitability for the Scheme.

For each question please select the response which you feel applies to you:

  1. As a graduate with the GPS, I could be involved in any part of the life-cycle to acquire goods, services and works from third parties. This could range from helping to define a requirement for window cleaning services, through to securing a contract for X-ray machines and from coastal patrol vessels used in investigations of international smuggling activities, to body armour used by enforcement staff in criminal investigations. I would therefore have to understand a range of products and services very quickly.

  3. As a graduate with the GPS, I will be given responsibility from the start. This means I could soon be helping to negotiate £million contracts and working on projects involving cutting edge technology that ultimately makes a difference to the society in which we live.
